Sonus does not collect your data. There is no account, no server of ours, and nothing about you or your driving leaves your device.
What the app reads, and why
Motion. Sonus reads the accelerometer to tell acceleration from braking. That reading drives the virtual revs and the sound, in memory, and is never written to storage or transmitted.
Location. In "In-car" mode, Sonus uses GPS speed to correct its own speed estimate, because an accelerometer cannot detect a steady cruise. Location is used only while the engine sound is running, only on the device, and is never stored or sent anywhere. Denying location permission leaves the app fully usable.
What stays on your phone
Trips you record — duration, peak G, top speed, 0–100 time and a low-rate trace of the drive — are stored in the app's own storage on the device. They are not backed up to any service of ours and are deleted when you delete the app.
Settings, calibration and whether you bought the full unlock are stored the same way.
Purchases
The in-app purchase is processed entirely by Apple. Sonus never sees your payment details; it only records, on the device, that a purchase was made.
Analytics, advertising and tracking
None. Sonus contains no analytics SDK, no advertising SDK and no crash reporter, and does not track you across apps or websites.
Children
Sonus is rated 4+ and collects no data from anyone, including children.
Changes
If a future version ever collects anything, this page and the app's App Store privacy labels will say so before that version ships.
